Searching for Ebbel en Ebeltje

My search for the descendants of Ebbel and Ebeltje, described in more detail.

On Tuesday, March 20, 2006, I came across a website via the internet, which mentioned the birth of a certain Siete Snip on 11/05/1909 in Hoogkerk and his passing on June 28, 1973, in Schiermonnikoog, buried in Midwolde.

Siete was said to be married to a Johanna Terpstra, with children named Ebbel, Sietske, and Sietse, of whom the birth dates and places are unknown.

Also, the parents of Siete are not mentioned on this site, leading to the question, “who are the father and mother?” and after whom was this Siete named?

From my indexed name file, only one pair qualifies to be the grandparents of this Siete.

These are Siete Snip married to Antje van der Velde.

Together, they had 8 children, 4 sons and 4 daughters. The eldest of these sons is named Ebbel and is the only one married to justify the birth of Siete on 05-11-1909 in Hoogkerk, naming his son Ebbel.

So, it can’t be wrong. In my opinion, Siete born on 05-11-1909 in Hoogkerk is a son of Ebel Snip and Ebeltje Venema. The question is, “how do you prove that”?

Then, on the internet, a certain Siete Snip is found who achieved 69th place in a held Star Run on 01/28/2006 in Ureterp, residing in Roderschool. But Roderschool is a non-existent place, so a search is made in the phone book for the name Snip in Roodeschool.

Unfortunately, no Snip is found here, but as a service, all occurring Snips in the Groningen region appear before me. Thank you!!

In this search, one E. Snip is found in Roderesch. Why Groningen region? Roderesch is located in Drente and is a stone’s throw away from our residence in Steenbergen.

The sum of all this is that I suspect, after calling this E. Snip, that I am dealing with a Mr. Ebbel, son of Siete.

And this turns out to be true. This Ebbel turns out to be a good storyteller and is very interested in the history of the Snip family, so an appointment is made for a conversation.

It’s wonderful to come to a solution in this way.
